Although the crux of the film – son respecting his father to the ultimate is a concept of recently released ‘Maanikya’ (remake of Mirchi Telugu film), this ‘Power ***’ is scaling heights in respect of son to father to beat the enemies eventually – this is also a remake of Telugu film ‘Dookudu’. It is a full 14 reels entertainment for the fans of power star Puneeth Rajakumar. What Kichcha Sudeep had done in ‘Maanikya’ 100 days run film of 2014, Power star Puneeth Rajakumar has done with aplomb and deserves full credit for his action, sentiment, dance and his screen presence is main trump card. Director K Madesh taking credit for screenplay seems to have made a few changes to the super speed ‘Dookudu’ screenplay. In Kannada the speed, substance, selection of artists K Madesh proves again that he is the best remake director in Kannada cinema. The debut presence of charming Trisha Krishnan is very convincing. Her experience, ability and cool appearance one feels more was needed for her to perform. A terrific package for family audience the film ‘Power ***’ greatness is that it appeals to all section of audience. There is absolute power from start to finish. The commercial cinema audience cannot miss out this ‘Power ***’. It is a familiar story of son Bharath Kumar IPS (he is a cop and has 3 stars) that fits the film title so well. In addition to it the inclusion of Dr Rajakumar name in the cast and Shivaji Prabhu as Krishnanda going by the ideals of Dr Rajakumar – Puneeth Rajakumar real life son enacting with such situations, it is so beautifully managed. The combination of Puneeth Rajakumar and Shivaji Prabhu in fact doles out a few emotional scenes. In the action part in this film is a clash between IPS Bharath Kumar verses international criminal played by Kelly Dorji. The comedy track of Rangayana Raghu ‘Boss Ge Boss’ reality show, Sadhu Kokila ambition to become hero, Shobaraj, Tennis Krishna, Harish Raj, Jai Jagadish, Doddanna, Sharat Lohitashva extended good support. The film moves from Spain – Hyderabad- Bangalore when the curtains are down for 161 minutes and 42 seconds ‘Power ***’ that is credited with U/A certificate. In the dialogues department there is some whistle blowing lines and lyric wise there are two memorable songs. In the song Guruvara Sanje…(there is Churidas costume in the song for Trisha) and the opening title song are well performed by artists and technically it is strong. The action department has done top work; the editing is very fast and crispy. There is no reason for you to miss this film. Score - 7.5/10 |
