With late Sridevi winning the National Award for the Best Actor (Female) category, her fans have on Friday got emotional. The legendary actress, who recently died in Dubai, has won the prestigious award for 'MOM'. It was her comeback movie and she was expected to do many more movies. But fate had other plans.
"I wish she was there, I miss her. Thank you for remembering her," Boney Kapoor has been quoted as saying emotionally.
Telugu film industry's stalwarts are expected to celebrate it through tweets/statements. Kona Venkat said, "Extremely happy to know that Sridevi garu won the National Award as Best Actress for the film 'MOM'. A well deserving honour to one of the best actors of our country ... Proud to be a writer of this film."
Not just from the industry, but the thumbs-up for the choice is across-the-board. Priti Gandhi of the BJP Mahila Morcha noted, "The legendary Sridevi being conferred the National award and superstar Vinod Khanna being awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke award is a wonderful decision. I am sure this news will be a source of tremendous happiness for lakhs of their fans across the world!"
