Posani Krishna Murali becomes chairman of AP Film Development Corporation

Here is a new update from the Andhra Pradesh government. Controversial political activist and actor Posani Krishna Murali has been made the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation. The YCP government made the announcement on Thursday.

The actor, known for playing comical and comically negative roles in movies, famously campaigned for YS Jaganmohan Reddy's party in the run-up to the 2019 Assembly elections. His appointment can be seen as a reward for his political service to the ruling party.

This comes only days after Ali was appointed as Advisor to the Electronic Media wing of the AP government.

Posani has been a trenchant and unapologetic critic of the TDP and the Jana Sena Party. In 2021, he blasted Pawan Kalyan at a Press Club of India presser, following which a police complaint was lodged by a Jana Sena leader from Telangana because the actor used grotesque and objectionable language against the actor-politician.
