Pornography case: Shilpa Shetty files defamtion suit

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has been in the news ever since her husband businessman Raj Kundra got arrested in connection with the creation and distribution of pornographic content. A day ago, the actress filed a defamation suit in Bombay High Court against media for 'doing false reporting & maligning her image' in the public eye. The case was filed against 29 media personnel and media houses. In her application, the actress demanded an unconditional apology from certain media houses, deletion of all defamatory content, and compensation of Rs 25 crores. She also stated that the damages caused by such news coverage can never be compensated by money. The hearing is scheduled for July 30.
It was last week Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch for the production and distribution of pornographic content. He is currently in 14-day judicial custody. The actress is yet to be given a clean chit in the case. On the work front, her film 'Hungama 2' helmed by Priyadarshan has released on the OTT platform last Friday.
