Popular film and serial actress Saranya Sasi, who was battling a rare form of brain tumor, passed away on Monday. The 35-year-old breathed her last at a private hospital in Trivandrum. Saranya had undergone over 11 major surgeries for the past 10 years and was slightly recovering. Her condition became worse after she contracted Covid-19 and pneumonia recently. Even after she recovered from COVID, she suffered other health issues due to low sodium levels in her blood.

Saranya Sasi was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. The actress, who was facing a severe financial crisis, received the help of many people from the industry. It was her industry friend Seem G Nair, who had been financially and mentally helping her. The actress had even built a house for the latter and the housewarming gained headlines too.

She entered the film field through 'Chacko Randaman'. She had played notable roles in movies such as Chotta Mumbai, Thalappavu, Bombay, and many other films. She has acted in many serials. Her characters in shows like Manthrakodi, Harichandanam, Seetha were popular among the telly audience.
