A heavy, bitter fact of recent times is that many leading Molly actresses have in quick succession been explicitly expressing their dissatisfaction in marital woes. After Kavya, Manju, Lisi, Amala Paul, and Divya Unni, following suite is the roaring success from yesteryears, Shanthi Krishna. Having been felicitated with numerous awards in Mollywood, including being chosen as the best actress in 1994, Shanthi Krishna left stardom for family life. After the untimely death of her first husband, actor Sreenath, who succumbed to suicide, the actress married Bajore Sadasivan, who she has opted to divorce now.
Shanthi Krishna debuted in 1980 in Shalini Ente Koottukari, and went on to be recognised as the best actress for Chakoram, and was given the second place in the same category for Savidham. She has also featured in a few Tamil movies, including Manal Kayiru, Panneer Pushpangal, and Nerukku Ner. It is worth mentioning here that Nerukku Ner was Suriya's break to stardom, where he shared the screen with Ilayathalapathy Vijay; in this flick, Shanthi Krishna played a strong role as Suriya's sister, and Raghuvaran's wife.
Shanthi, sister of Tamil director Suresh Krissna, is now in an idea to re-enter filmdom. The grapevine has it that disagreement over this matter, is what has eventually led the couple to such a drastic decision.
