Popular singer and song composer Vishal Dadlani has criticized and accused PM Narendra Modi of lying at a youth conclave speech in Surat on Wednesday.

During the speech, the PM stated that it doesn’t take too long for rapists and other criminals to serve their death sentence in his term, claiming that they are hanged within 3 days, 7 days, 11 days, or in a month. “Steps are being taken continuously to get daughters justice and results are evident,” he added. In response to the statement, the singer posted a tweet asserting that it was a lie, mentioning Nirbhaya’s and Asifa’s rapists who are still alive. “LIE! Name one rapist who has been hung in your term, Sir. Nirbhaya’s rapists, Asifa’s rapists, even Unnao child-rape-accused BJP MLA Sengar are still alive and well. Narendra Modi ji, we know elections are near, but don’t turn the pain of Indian women & girls into propaganda,” Dadlani posted.

Vishal Dadlani is an acclaimed singer who has won several awards for his contribution in Bollywood. He has delivered three hit songs in Tamil from Vanakkam Chennai, Kaththi, and Kaaki Sattai, all of which were composed by Anirudh.
