Malayalam cinema's popular comedian actor Unnirajan is all set to join as scavenger at the Kasaragod Govt Post Matric hostel on Monday. The actor, who shot to fame with a popular serial named 'Marimayam', is a household name among Keralites. Apart from serials, the actor had played notable roles in several movies too. His performance in the Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ and the investigation thriller ‘Operation Java’ are a favorite among the audience' hearts.

The actor decided to take up the new job after he realized that he couldn't make both the ends meet with his acting job. During the interview process, the actor was tested by the interview board if he had applied for the post knowing well about the position. Reportedly, the actor took up the job role knowing very well about his duties as a scavenger, who will have to clean the ten toilets in the Post Matric hostel. The salary will be low, but it would be a permanent post. The scope of the job position is that he can get promoted as a sweeper, attender and so on. "Even if he refuses to take up the job, someone else might do. All jobs have its own value," says Unnirajan. As it was a necessity for the actor to make a permanent income, he took up the offer and is all set to join this Monday.
