Renowned Malayalam actor Rizabawa passed away due to Kidney related ailments on Monday. Rizbawa, known for essaying a mix of humane character roles and later powerful villain roles in the 90s, was getting treated at a private hospital for the past few days and breathed his last on Monday. He was 55.
Rizabawa made his acting debut with the film Dr. Pasupathy directed by Shaji Kailas. The actor shot to overnight fame with his performance in the director duo Siddique-Lal's movie In Harihar Nagar. The movie and his character won accolades from all corners and continues to be one of the golden characters of Malayalam cinema loved by the audience for the villainous nature. Since then the actor has acted in over 100 films such as Champakulam Thachan, Kabuliwala, 'Oomapenninu Uriyada Payyan', Bandhukal Shatrukal, Ezhupunna Tharakan, Nerariyan CBI and The King, Vadhu Doctoranu, the Commissioner, 'Pokkiriraja' and 'Simhasanam' among many others. Apart from movies, Rizabawa was also active in television serials, dramas, and the dubbing field. He won the state award for best dubbing artist through the movie ‘Karmayogi’. He was last seen in Mammootty-starrer ‘One’.
Actors including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Dulquer Salmaan, and several others took to social media to condole the death of the veteran actor. Fans are also posting messages of condolence on social media.
