Popular actress Vani Vishwanath makes a comeback alongside her husband

Actress Vani Vishwanath was one of the most sought after actresses in the 2000s. Known for movies such as Mannar Mathai Speaking, Independence and The King, the actress has acted in more than 100 movies in languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. She was popular for essaying bold roles and action sequences in ease. In 2000, she received the Kerala state award for best supporting actress for her incredible performance in the movie Susanna. She quit movies at the peak of her career and in 2002 entered wedlock with actor Baburaj. The couple has two kids –Archa and Adri. Though she was last seen in a cameo role in Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 that was released in 2014, movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for her comeback in cinema.

Much to the surprise of her fans, the actress is set to mark her second innings with an upcoming movie. After a long break of almost seven years, she will be starring opposite her husband and actor Baburaj in an upcoming crime thriller titled The Criminal Lawyer. The title launch of the movie in which the duo will be playing the lead roles was held in Thiruvananthapuram recently. The movie helmed by debutant Jithin Jithu is penned by Umesh S Mohan and bankrolled under the banner of Third Eye Media Makers. Several celebrities had attended the title launching event to wish the couple. More details regarding the movie are yet to be disclosed.
