Poorna of 'Avunu' fame is getting married. The actress, who was last year seen as a lawyer in 'Drushyam 2', hails from Kerala. Shamna Kasim is her real name.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 'Avunu 2' and 'Jayammu Nischayammu Raa' actress wrote, "With the blessings of the family, I am stepping to my next part of life. And now it’s official."

Poorna's fiance is Shanid Asif Ali, who is a businessman based in the UAE. He is the founder and CEO of JBS Group.

The couple is said to have met through mutual friends and after getting to know each other for some time have decided to take the plunge. The wedding date will be announced later.

In recent times, Poorna has been active in films, especially the critically-acclaimed 'Thalaivi' and the Telugu blockbuster 'Akhanda'. Poorna was seen in Telugu films such as 'Power Play', 'Sundari', etc. 'Back Door' is among her upcoming movies. On TV, she has appeared as a judge for shows like 'Comedy Stars Dhamaka', 'Jabardasth', 'Sridevi Drama Company', and other reality shows.
