Actress Poonam Kaur has been fighting for the removal of GST on handlooms. The news is that over 100 MPs have supported her cause by signing a petition demanding that the Centre does away with GST so that the lives of weavers can be bettered eventually.

The other day, Poonam participated in the Congress leader's ongoing political Yatra. The Wayanad MP was seen holding her hand while she was about to have an accidental fall. Sharing the pic, the Telangana unit of the Congress party wrote, "Everyone can contribute in some way. Our goal is to continue the dialogue, listen to their concerns and work towards making Bharat stronger and better."

In a social media post, the actress praised Rahul's "concern, respect and protective nature toward women", adding that it is something that touched her heart. "I with the weavers' team heartfully thank Rahul Gandhi ji for hearing the weaver's issues," she added.
