Poola Rangadu leaves us in a state of world-weariness. Except for the vocals, and the re-recording, this Anup Rubens album doesn't work at any other level. Lyrics by Chandrabose, Vanamali, Kandikonda and Ananth Sriram are just about ok. Chocolate Artists: Udit Narayan, Meenal Jain It is nice to hear Udit's sprightly vocals and Chandrabose's quirky lyrics in the song. Anup Rubens exhibits a command over the beat patterns and sounding. Udit's pitch is alright, and Meenal Jain gives her best shot. Nuvve Nuvvele Artists: Karthik, Gayathri This breezy song, sung meticulously by Karthik and Gayathri, has Vanamali penning entertaining lyrics. Nuvve Nuvvele makes a good romantic song. Worth-a-listen! Nuvvu Naku Artists: Karthik, Gayathri Anup doesn't show any promise here. His re-recording is ok, but the song soon makes way to a hackneyed feel. A disappointing number. Vanamali's lyrics, however, make a soothing sense. Okkade Okkade Artists: Raja Hassan, Noel, Lipsika Yet another boring number. Okkade Okkade sounds like a zillion numbers which we have heard in innumerable films set in the rustic backdrop. Lyrics sing paeans of the one and only Poola Rangadu, but they lack novelty. Poola Rangadu Artists: Benny Dayal, Nakash, Bhargavi, Lipsika Benny Dayal's vocals are the only saving grace. Lyrics by Ananth Sriram talk about a various things which will make sense on hearing twice. The song smarts under Anup Rubens's inferiorly inspired tosh. Okkade (Remix) Artists: Raja Hassan, Lipsika More of the same. The tweaking doesn't make any difference. |
