It is quite known that acting under director Bala's direction exhausts one as much as it brings much recognition and critical acclaim. Pooja who acted under this ace film maker in 'Naan Kadavul' a couple of years back, went onto bag many state film awards and received critical appreciation from all over the country.

After this, Pooja Umshankar disappeared from the Tamil film industry, for reasons best known to the actress. But hey, she may not be busy in Kollywood. But a meaty offer has knocked her doors from Sri Lanka, her native country. She will be soon part of a mythological Sinhalese movie, which is to be made on a heavy budget.

Tentatively titled 'Kusa Paba', the film is reportedly set in BC era and is said to be Sri Lankan film industry's tribute to the year-long celebration of the 2,600th anniversary of Buddha's enlightenment.

The actress will play Pabavathy, a princess. "Pooja feels it an honour to act in the film. It is a lifetime role for her and this is for the first time she is acting in a mythological movie," say circles close to her.

Recently, the actress turned down the 'baseless' media reports that suggested that she is in no mood to act in Tamil movies. "I am staying out only to due to some personal commitments," she clarified.

Whatever her personal commitments maybe, we sure want her to get on to doing some good roles in Tamil as well!
