Pooja Gandhi on Wednesday filed a suit in a Bengaluru Court seeking a direction to producer-director Shivaganapathi to pay the amount due to her. She also sought a stay on the release of the film ‘Nee Illade’, slated to be released on March 25.

The actress alleged in her suit that the producer had agreed to pay Rs four lakh before the completion of the shooting schedule, which was fixed from February 1 to February 25, 2010, with some intervals.

She pointed out that the producer had failed to pay the amount before the completion of shooting. When the suit came up for hearing, advocate for Shivaganapathi sought a day’s time to amicably settle the matter.

On Tuesday, the Kannada Film Producers’ Association asked Pooja Gandhi to apologise for alleging that the producer of her film ‘Nee Illade’ owed her Rs four lakh. Reacting to this, the actress said, “Is it wrong to ask for the remuneration due to me? Fortunately, I have the support of the Artistes’ Association. I will seek advice from them.”
