The departure of Kartik Aaryan from the film 'Dostana 2' became quite a hot topic in the news. There have been several specualtions about what caused Karan Johar to fire Kartik but nothing official has been revealed by either party. It was reported that Kartik's demand to hike the salary or his fallout with the leading lady Janhvi Kapoor might have something to do with it. However, the incident did manage to reignite the nepotism debate in the industry.

Recently, actress Pooja Bedi shared her cents on the matter. She described that while star kids have a little easier path than some outsiders but it doesn't mean that they don't have to struggle or face rejection. While emphasising that its okay for an actor's kids to be an actor she said, "people are envious of people who have a certain privilege."

She further shared, "We have Preity G Zinta, Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Shah Rukh Khan and so many other people who have come into the industry with no background and become icons. At the same time, we have people who've been part of the industry, and yet fizzled out. Kumar Gaurav made a great debut with Love Story, but his career didn't take off."
