Mani Ratnam’s mega dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ shooting begins

Mani Ratnam’s long-time dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ begins shooting today in the forests of Thailand and crew and some of the cast have travelled there.  In the current schedule, both Karthi and Jayam Ravi are participating while Vikram will join them a few months later.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ based on the classic historical novel of the same name written by Kalki is produced by Lyca Productions on a huge budget and reports suggest that it could be a two-part epic on screen.  A.R. Rahman is scoring the music for songs written by Vairamuthu while Ravi Varman is handling the camera and Thotta Tharani the sets.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ has the reported starcast of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarathkumar, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakamanu and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
