Mani Ratnam is currently working on the final works of his dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan', based on the novel of the same name by author Kalki. Meanwhile, we already broke to you that 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' is scheduled to be launched on July 7 at the Thanjavur Brihadeeswarar Temple.

As per the latest reports, the teaser release is most likely to get postponed. Also, the plans to launch the teaser in Thanjavur temple is cancelled. Sources say that a teaser announcement promo video will be released instead and the teaser will be unleashed by the July end. It is being reported that the pending VFX works may be the reason.

On the other hand, a parallel report suggests that the makers are planning to make up for the teaser delay by launching the first single from 'Ponniyin Selvan'. The first single is expected to arrive before the teaser. Isai Puyal AR Rahman has composed the songs and background score for the film. The team has planned several extensive promotions across places.

Ponniyin Selvan's ensemble cast comprises Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Rahman and Ashwin among many other popular cine faces in the country. 'Ponniyin Selvan' is made in two parts and part 1 is slated to release on September 30.
