'Ponniyin Selvan' special silk sarees become super hits in Diwali sales

The magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' directed by Mani Ratnam was released on the 30th of September and has turned out to be a record breaking success all over the globe. Production house Lyca has officially announced today that the film has collected Rs 300 crores worldwide in 7 days and is expected to make around rupees 500 to 600 crores worldwide.
Mani Ratnam's admirable vision, A.R. Rahman's powerful background score, Ravi Varman's magnificent cinematography and Thotta Tharani's authentic production design are praised for the film's unprecedented success. Of course much has been written about the terrific performances of the lead actors Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarathkumar, Parthiban and Jayaram.
There is a section of the female audiences who are awestruck by the costumes and jewelry worn in 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' especially Aishwarya Rai and Trisha. Capitalizing on that a new saree has been introduced in the Diwali collection that has the images of the characters of the film printed on it along with the title.
Textiles owners have said that the 'Ponniyin Selvan' saree is also a super hit as more and more women, young and old are going for it to keep with the trend and also make their Diwali's special in a Chola kind of way. The silk sarees are sold from around 2100/- rupees onwards.
