We broke to you yesterday that Chiyaan Vikram will be seen as Aditya Karikalan, the Chola crown prince and the one who defeated the Pandyas, in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan'. Now, the latest hot news is that the makers revealed two new characters.

Karthi took to his social media handles today to unveil a new glorious poster featuring his character and one more character from 'Ponniyin Selvan 1'. Karthi will play Vallavarayan Vanthiyathevan, a loyal servant to the Chola throne and Aditya Karikalan's dear friend. The actor also revealed the character Semban, Vanthiyathevan's horse.

Sharing the poster, Karthi wrote, "With all your blessings bringing to you #Vanthiyathevan and #Semban (the horse). #PS1" (sic). 'Ponniyin Selvan' is an epic historical fiction adapted from the renowned author Kalki's novel of the same name. The story is centred on the conspiracy surrounding the Chola dynasty throne set 1000 years ago.

'Ponniyin Selvan' also stars Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Parthiban, Prakash Raj, Lal, Vikram Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Rahman, Jayaram, Ashwin, Arjun Chidambaram and others. With music by AR Rahman, 'Ponniyin Selvan part 1' is all set to storm the screens on September 30.
