The first part of Mani Ratnam's ambitious project, 'Ponniyin Selvan' based on Kalki's epic novel of the same name is releasing worldwide in theaters in five languages on September 30th this year. The legendary filmmaker and the major cast members are touring all major Indian cities to promote the film and are getting thunderous response everywhere.

The team of 'PS-1' as the first part is called has released a new promo video that reveals the antagonists of the film the Pandyas who are out to take revenge on Aditha Karikalan (Chiyaan Vikram) for beheading their king Veerapandian in the Sevur battle. The clip has Kamal Haasan's baritone narrative explaining in detail the events that unfold.

Vikram looks stunningly menacing with the swordplay while its revealed that Kishore is playing the Pandyan Ravi Dasan, Riyaz Khan as Soman Sambavan, Vinay as Devarajan and Arjun Chidambaram as Varagunan. It is clear through this teaser that this episode will be loaded with action that would keep the audiences at the edges of their seats.

'PS-1' has music by A.R. Rahman and the ensemble cast comprises of Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayachithra, Rahman, Nassar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Parthiban, Vikram Prabhu and Jayaram among others.
