Why is Ponniyin Selvan II album getting delayed? AR Rahman reveals

Ponniyin Selvan 1 directed by Mani Rathnam became a blockbuster hit and since then the fans are waiting for the second installment of this movie. While it was expected that the album will be released much earlier, the fans were disappointed as it was not released on the announced released date.

Now music director AR Rahman has given an update on why the album is getting delayed. He wrote, “News about PS Score ..our team decided to load you up with more goodies …hence the delay ..will announce new release date when it’s ready…#love #peace #music #PonniyinSelvan #maniratnam (sic).” Going by the tweet, it seems like the album will have more songs than originally planned.

The Mani Ratnam directorial featured Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. The movie features an extensive star cast including Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, R Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, R Parthiban, Rahman, Jayachithra, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu and others.

The film is an adaptation of eminent writer Kalki’s eponymous work of the same name. The story revolves around the battle for the throne in the Chola Kingdom after the reigning king Sundara Chola (played by Prakash Raj) gets bedridden.
