Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan-I' is slated to hit the screens on September 30. The news is that a song titled 'Ponge Nadhi' from the epic movie is out.
Composed and arranged by AR Rahman, it has been sung by Rahman himself, AR Raihanah, and Bamba Bakya. Written by Anantha Sriram, the song is animated by the use of the Shehnai, Flute, Violin, String Instruments, and Percussion.
Shot on Karthi and a group of junior/supporting artists, its choreography has a ring of vintage Mani Ratnam. Quite a few songs from his movies made in the 1990s used to have a similar vibe. The jamboree mode of the song is infectious.
Karthi, the film stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban in key roles.
Ravi Varman's cinematography is believed to be majestic in the movie. Sreekar Prasad's editing is going to be another highlight. Mani Ratnam is expected to give a bang for the buck with the magnum opus. The pan-India flick is among the most-awaited releases of the year.
