'Ponniyin Selvan-I', the Mani Ratnam magnum opus, is now going to get grander. The much-awaited film has become the first Tamil outing to be confirmed for an IMAX release. "Grand gets Grander! Experience #PS1 in IMAX, the first Tamil film to come out in IMAX! (sic)," Lyca Productions said, making the announcement.

As is known, the film hits the screens on Sept 30.

As is known, the film stars Vikram (as Aditya Karikalan) and Karthi (as Vanthiyathevan) in author-backed roles. Jayam Ravi has got the titular role. Kundavai (Trisha) and Nandhini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) are also part of the cast. Ravi Varman's cinematography is majestic. AR Rahman's music looks authentic. Sreekar Prasad's editing is another highlight.

Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban have got different roles.
