Mani Ratnam's mega multistarrer epic 'Ponniyin Selvan' based on Kalki's novel of the same name is releasing worldwide in theaters on September 30th in five languages. Hectic promotional activities have started right from the begining of the month and the major stars have allotted 25 days for touring all over India and abroad.

Meanwhile Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies have been unveiling posters of the important characters of 'Ponniyin Selvan'. So far Sarathkumar and Parthiban have been revealed as playing Periya Pazhuvettarayar and Chinna Pazhuvettarayar respectively, Sobitha Dulipala as Vanathi and Aishwarya Lekshmi as Poonguzhali.

The latest posters show that Prakash Raj plays the evil Sundara Chozhar, Jayachithra his wife Sembiyan Maadevi and Rahman as his son Madhurantakan. Ilayathilagam Prabhu is playing Periya Velaar the friend and protector of the heroes, Lal as Malayaman and Vikram Prabhu as Parthibendran Pallavan.

The grand audio and trailer launch event is all set to happen at 6pm on September 6th with Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan as chief guests and Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman performing live. The principal cast of Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishnan are expected to participate.
