Ponniyin Selvan directed by ace director Mani Rathnam is one of the much-anticipated movies of the year. As the movie is all set to hit the silver screens on September 30, the run time and censor details of this film are out now.

With a star-studded cast and made in two parts, the first part of this movie has cleared the censor with U/A and the run time is reported to be 2 hours and 47 minutes. We are sure the 2.47 hours of this film will surely be a visual treat to the audience with extravaganza and grandeur.

The team is promoting the film all over India and recently reached Hyderabad to meet the Telugu audience in person. Pictures of the cast travelling together in flight for the promotional event are also going viral on social media platforms.

The adaptation of Ponniyin Selvan novel into a feature film was proposed by several filmmakers in Tamil cinema ever since the novel gained popularity, but did not materialize mostly due to financial constraints. After last attempted by M. G. Ramachandran in late-1950s, Mani Ratnam tried to adapt the novel in the mid-1990s and early-2010s. The dream of Mani Rathnam has finally come true and will hit the theatres on September 30.
