'Ponniyin Selvan 2' makers quash the rumours regarding the film's release with a new glimpse!

Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam's dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' caught the interest of millions and became an all-time blockbuster in Tamil cinema. In January, the movie team announced that the sequel of the magnum opus will debut on the silver screens on April 28 worldwide.

Meanwhile, there were recent rumours that 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' is delayed indefinitely from the April release date. We clarified to you that a source close to the production houses denied the news. Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies unveiled the new glimpse video and wrote, "A tiny glimpse into all the fun the team had while making #PS1 and #PS2! #PS2 in theatres worldwide from April 28" (sic). The glimpse was a 60-second video in which the lead actors Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram and Jayam Ravi talk about the glory of the epic historical fiction drama.

Actor Jayaram was also spotted in the promo and they were discussing the exciting things that we are going to witness in PS-2. The release date was confirmed as April 28 once again at the end of the clip. Also, sources tell us that the film's audio and trailer launch will be held in Chennai on March 29 or April 5. The occasion will be graced by the cast and crew and many big celebrities.

With music by AR Rahman, PS-2 stars Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Shobita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Ashwin and many others. The story revolves around the civil war inside the Chola dynasty for the throne and the conspiracy by Pandyas to avenge the Cholas, set around the 10th century.
