Ponniyin Selvan 2 first single: AR Rahman’s soul-stirring melody, ‘Aga Naga’, is here!

The most-awaited song from Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ album is finally out. ‘Aga Naga’ is the sensational melody which captivated the masses when featured in the background score of Ponniyin Selvan 1. Now, the full version of Aga Naga is launched as the first single of PS-2. 

The songs and musical scores are composed by Isai Puyal AR Rahman. Aga Naga is a romantic song between the Chola princess Kundhavai (Trisha) and the adventurous hero Vandhiyathevan Vallavarayan (Karthi). The spellbinding melody has vocals of Shakthishree Gopalan and lyrics of Ilango Krishnan. The lyric video is done by Venky Studios.

Aga Naga is easily one of the best love numbers ever produced by Oscar Nayagan. The prelude, interludes and Shakthishree’s vocals will mesmerise the listener. The animation in the lyric video is eye-pleasing and Ilango Krishnan’s poetic lines do complete justice to the magical song. Based on Kalki’s epic novel, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is coming to cinemas on April 28. 

Ponniyin Selvan is a historical fiction story revolving around the Chola throne and the Pandyas’ conspiracy around it. The movie stars Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Mohan Ram, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu, Lal and others in primary roles.
