The magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' by the legendary maker Mani Ratnam has been the talk of the town since last night. The movie's lavish promotional campaign started with a grand music & trailer launch event in Chennai. Apart from the cast and crew, top celebrities and politicians attended the function.

Veteran actors Sarathkumar and R Parthiban, who have played the roles of Periya Pazhuvettarayar and Chinna Pazhuvettarayar in the PS universe, delivered a fun-filled speech that is going viral on social media. Parthiban sarcastically said to Sarathkumar, "If they ask you to act as a pair for the everlasting beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, you should've rejected it by saying you're too old for it."

Parthiban made fun of Sarathkumar by asking, "Shouldn't you have said no for such a mistake even if Mani Ratnam asks you to do it? How did you recover from this guilt? And have you ever wondered how young people like me feel when you turn Nandini around and unchain her jewel?" Replying to his question, Sarathkumar said, "I took off the chain because the queen told me it was heavy on her neck. And in this film, I only did what the director told me."

Sarathkumar further continued, "The first scene that Mani Ratnam gave me itself is a romantic scene with Aishwarya Rai. I'm a person who did love marriage twice. I was stunned when Mani Ratnam asked me whether I can do romance." Then Parthiban said, "It is hard to act like you're annoyed by a beauty like Aishwarya Rai. In that case, I have delivered the best acting," and Sarathkumar agreed with his statement.
