Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam's dream project, 'Ponniyin Selvan 2', is all set for a grand release on April 28. The movie's audio and trailer launch was organised on a massive scale last night in Chennai. Many top celebrities and politicians were present at the big-ticket event.
Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's speech was one of the highlights of the extravagant occasion. She played the venomous and grief-stricken villainess, Nandhini, who broke the heart of Aditha Karikalan in PS-1. At the event, she started her speech by saying, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to attend this event and thank you all for your love."
The everlasting beauty continued, "I express my gratitude from the bottom of my heart, because I deeply appreciate this great love of yours. This film is so close to my heart. First of all, I want to thank you all for celebrating this film. I have played many characters in Mani Ratnam's films. I made my acting debut in Mani sir's direction. From the first time I was on screen to this moment, I'll tell you one thing. I will remain your student forever. This time, he has given me the character of Nandini. Many thanks to him for that."
"Although Nandini is a fictional character, she is very very special. I express my gratitude to Mani Ratnam sir for entrusting me with this character. I would like to express my gratitude to the producer Subaskaran for making this film so wonderfully, grandly and also for delivering it to every fan. I am a big fan of Rahman sir. He has composed music for many of my films and I am very grateful to him. He has done magic in this film. My thanks to Rahman sir and all his team singers for making this beautiful evening magical," added Aishwarya.
Aishwarya Rai concluded her speech by saying, "I would like to express my gratitude to every person who helped in making this beautiful film 'Ponniyin Selvan'. Especially the work of all the technicians, all the stars, all the crew was amazing. You are all working very hard."
