Mani Ratnam confirms ‘PS-1’ re-release before ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’

Mani Ratnam’s epic historical fantasy ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ became the all time biggest blockbuster in Tamil cinema history.  The sequel is going to hit theaters worldwide on April 28th with even higher expectations especially after the trailer release.

Many fans have expressed their wish to watch the first part before ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ so that they can enjoy the continuity of the story on screen.  Parthiban who plays Chinna Pazhuvettarayar in the film has shared screenshots of him conveying the message to Mani Ratnam and his reply that ‘PS-1’ will re-release in theaters on April 21st which is one week before the arrival of the much awaited sequel.

‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies has music by A.R. Rahman, cinematography by Ravi Varman and ediiting by A. Sreekhar Prasad.  The film comprises of the top notch cast of Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prakashraj, Rahman, Kishore, Ashwin, Nizhalgal Ravi, Riaz Khan, Lal, Mohan Raman, Balaji Sakthivel and others.
