'Ponni Nadhi' the first single video from Mani Rathnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' was launched this evening at the Express Avenue Mall in Chennai amidst much fanfare. Karthi, Jayam Ravi and Jayaram were present.

The 'Ponni Nadhi' song is composed and sung by Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman who is currently in the USA on a concert tour. He will be performing the song live at Houston 7pm PST. The song has melodious folk touch with the lyrics conveying the greatness of the Chola Empire.

In the lyrical video glimpses of Karthi who plays Vandhiyathevan dancing to the ancient drum beats performed by Sivamani. The song is witten by Ilango Krishnan and has a duration of 4 minutes and 53 seconds.

'Ponniyin Selvan' is directed by Mani Ratnam who is also producing the epic under his banner Madras Talkies along with Lyca Productions. The film's ensemble all star cast includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R Parthiban. The worldwide release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada is set on September 30th this year.
