In May 2021, actor Ponnambalam from Kollywood revealed that he received financial assistance from Megastar Chiranjeevi. The legendary actor generously covered Ponnambalam's medical expenses, which amounted to Rs 40 lakh, for a kidney transplant operation. Ponnambalam expressed his gratitude towards Chiranjeevi for his kind gesture at that time.

During a recent interview, Ponnambalam shared that Chiranjeevi had assured him of complete financial assistance upon learning about his surgery. "I thought he would provide me with around Rs 2 or 3 lakh. To my surprise, Chiranjeevi sir went above and beyond and ensured full help to cover the total cost of forty lakh," the artist stated. A video clip of the interview is now going viral on the internet.

"I will never forget your help. I thank him from the bottom of my heart," he added. The assistance was overseen by Upasana Konidela, Ram Charan's wife.

During the pandemic, Chiranjeevi set aside Rs 15 lakh to help out various artists from the film industry.
