It is not a sweet Pongal but Khara Pongal for Kannada films this time. The pongal (Sankranthi – beginning of harvest season) release is a celebration for non Kannada films in Karnataka rather than Kannada films celebrating with the ‘Ellu Bella’ festival.

For pre Pongal release there is newcomer film ‘Humble Politician Nogaraj’ and an old film from the stock ‘Mari Tiger’.

Two Kannada films are facing challenges in the box office from two big Tamil and two Telugu films besides the Hindi and English language films.

From Telugu language Balakrishna’s ‘Jayasimha’ and Pawan Kalyan ‘Agnathavasi’ are releasing. Tamil language films ‘Tana Seranda Kootam’ of super star Suriya and Vikram ‘Sketch’ are occupying more screens than the Kannada films set for release.

The team of ‘Humble Politician Nogaraj’ that gained good popularity from its marketing strategy of Danish Sait and Saad Khan is sure to get initial crowd. For any film first day first show is the ‘Thakkath’ expressing moment feels the producers of ‘HPN’.
