We had reported that Anandhi (name changed) a girl from Oddanchathiram in Dindigul district was found murdered near Pollachi and police had set up four separate teams to nab the culprit. Read : College girl found murdered near Pollachi.  The cellphone of the girl was found twenty feet away from where the body was lying.

Based on CCTV footages at Avarampalayam bus stand and calls made to and from Anandhi's cell phone the police have arrested her relative Sathish who has confessed to the crime.  According to police sources Sathish was in love with the victim since childhood but since her parents did not approve of him he married someone else.  

When Sathish got to know that Anandhi is getting married soon he hatched on a plan and on the day she left Coimbatore to her home town to buy the wedding saree he had contacted her.  He had then apparently kidnapped her in a car and raped and murdered her with a knife as he did not want another man to be her husband.  The post mortem report has revealed that Sathish has stabbed her in multiple places including breast and shoulders and has also broken her wrists and arms.
