Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has told actor Kamal Haasan that politics is not like the films he has been starring in for the past many decades.

“Unlike films, politics is reality,” Tamilisai told in response to Kamal Haasan’s announcement that he would reveal his political plans at his own pace and not on his birthday (tomorrow).

Kamal, who met his fans at Kelambakkam off Chennai yesterday, discussed many things and told them that he would surely take to politics but not immediately.  Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi’s Thol Thirumavalavan said that his party would decide about aligning with Kamal Haasan’s (proposed) outfit depending on the policies to be framed by the latter’s political outfit.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Tamilisai said that people are competent enough to hit back at Kamal if he spoke in a manner hurting their religious belief/faith.  “Let Kamal first take to the field (politics); we would wait and see as to whether he is accepted by people or not,” she added.

Earlier, Tamilisai and Union Road Transport Minister Pon Radhakrishnan supervised the security and welcome arrangements which have been put in place at the Chennai Airport in view of visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Chennai today.
