Political Rowdy
When Mohan Babu, who had been keeping himself away from acting after the fiasco of his last film, to comeback and face the camera there has to be something special.
Indeed there is in Political Rowdy. It is a role and story that suits his age and image. There is a quirky sense of humor running all through. The film is a dutiful remake of the Tamil hit Adi Thadi.
The story of the film is about a ageing don who falls in love with a much younger girl. Of course, the whole mood of the film is tongue in cheek, and the whole affair is a bit of a lark. The don loves the girl but the young girl is in romance with a much younger guy.
Much of the movie revolves around how the old don goes to make himself look young (like film heroes) in the eyes of his lover. He goes to the extent of calling back his estranged brother (also a dhadha) to prepare him for the romance. It is all fun and laugh.
Mohan Babu has enjoyed playing the don. It is a role that fits his real life image. Charmi plays the young girl caught in the clasp of a committed but misplaced love.
Tanikella Bharani plays the uncle to Mohan Babu. Ali is playing side-kick to Mohan Babu. His name is Cylinder and Venu Madhav plays a caretaker and is called Blade. Sunil is also playing a key role in the film.
Prakash Raj and Sayaji Shinde are also in the fray to add to the mirth. The music by Sandeep Chowtha can be expected to be a major attraction.
Director Aadi is a bit of a unknown quantity. But Mohan Babu is convinced of his ability, and hence should be good.
Political Rowdy is a September release.
