Superstar Rajinikanth had earlier today told the press that he will be discussing with his fans whether he will be entering politics in the future. Later on, after a meeting, the legendary actor issued a statement that could be taken as his strong final decision on his political entry.
Rajini has stated that he will not be able to enter politics. Since there was confusion as to how his followers should conduct themselves, it has now been decided to dissolve the Rajini Makkal Mandram and merge it to Rajini Rasigar Narpani Mandram.
"I have no further intentions of entering into politics in the future. Therefore, Rajini Makkal Mandram will no longer function. Instead, the organization will carry on the good deeds through Rajinikanth Rasigar Narpani Mandram," he stated in a Tamil-language statement. This puts an end to all the confusion surrounding his political entry.
In 2019 the legendary actor made it clear that he will start his party and contest the 2021 elections. However, in December 2020, the thespian declared that he would not be joining politics after all. Citing health concerns following his brief hospitalization for blood pressure fluctuations on the 'Annaatthe' sets, he said that the Covid situation made him take the decision.
'Annaatthe', directed by Siva, will hit the screens on November 4.
