Popular anchor Anasuya Bhardwaj is in the news for lodging a complaint against cyber abuse by a Twitter user. It all began when a Twitter handle slut-shamed the 'Kshanam' actress in a derogatory manner. The 'Jabardasth' TV presenter at first complained to Twitter, which said that the tweet was not against its rules.
After this, left with no option, Anasuya took the issue to Cyberabad police. After looking into the complaint and the content of the abusive tweet, the police have launched a preliminary investigation and are searching for the person who posted the tweet.
Meanwhile, Anasuya's question to Twitter remains unanswered. "Dear Twitter, I urge you to reassess ‘your rules’. If this is not violating then what else does? I won't shy away to blame you guys as a major influence by not contemplating the cyber abuse," she wrote.
She later said that punishment to abusive trolls alone can prevent such toxic behaviour from growing.
