A grand conference of Superstar Rajinikanth Fans was held in Vellore district on Sunday. Thousands of Rajini fan club members and individual fans participated in the event.
Earlier the police hesitated to give the requisite permission to the event citing various reasons. However the organizers managed to get the 'go ahead' signal from the police, a few hours ahead of the event.
The event started at 3 pm with music and dance. Then some fan club members and Rajini loyalists addressed the gathering. Bala Namachi, the President of Raji Fan club association, Ramanathapuram started speaking about the star's political entry which has been a long time expectation of his fans. The police personnel who were monitoring the event asked him not to speak anything about politics. But the fan could not be controlled as he continued speaking on the same lines. Then the Police officer forced him to cut short his speech.
Actor and Nadigar Sangam Vice President Karunas who participated in the event as one of the chief guests also said that he is waiting for the day when the Superstar will announce his entry into politics. He was also reportedly warned by the police officials to not speak about politics and was ordered to complete the speech in short.
This organizers as well as the members of the crowd criticised the police action of controlling what is being spoken in a meeting conducted with the necessary permission.
