Police force morning-walkers to do Yoga as punishment

Lockdown violations have attracted a range of creative, reformative punishments this season. In Hyderabad, those violating Janatha Curfew last month were made to stand under the sun holding placards related to COVID-19. It seems such tricks have paid off because the media publicizes them widely, making the news go viral.

In Maharashtra's Pune, the police went a notch higher in meting out creative punishment. In an area in the bustling city, many middle-aged people today came out onto roads to do morning walk. Since they violated the lockdown, the police made them perform yoga collectively.

Several health experts have been advising people to do yoga (especially breathing exercises) to boost their immunity in these times of COVID-19.
