Padmapriya is an actress who puts in her heart and soul for any character she does, be it as the demure abused wife in Satham Podathey or as the brash village girl in Mirugam. And now, she takes on the rol of a literature-loving Muslim girl in Pokkisham.

Speaking about her role, she says “The most important features of this film will be its dialogues and songs. The love story is completely emotion packed, which makes expression of emotions very important. It was a different experience and I enjoyed acting with Cheran for the second time.”

Being a period film, there was a lot to take care of, says the actress. “I play a Muslim girl in an upper class family, who is a literature student. There were physical changes made to make me look like the character, but god, as the adage goes, is always in the details. This was what Cheran concentrated on: to give my character that dash of authenticity. Little details like making sure that the only jewellery I wear are my banglesor making my clothes look rich yet subtle. And, given my origin, my style of writing Tamil letters will be different from the usual. Cheran sir ensured I played the role to the tee,” gushes the actress, who is all set to shoot the film’s climax this week.
