'Pokiri' re-release figures divided between MB Foundation, TFDT

Mahesh Babu's birthday week it was. And the opportunity was used to re-release a remastered version of 'Pokiri', the 2006 blockbuster. As much as Rs 1.73 Cr (gross) was made from about 375 shows. As per the superstar's team, 350 of the shows were houseful.
The news is that the collections will be entirely used for noble charity activities. MB Foundation, floated by Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar, will get the entire amount minus Rs 10 lakh. The remaining one million rupees will go towards the Telugu Film Directors Trust for the welfare of needy filmmakers.
The team of the 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' actor today thanked director Puri Jagannadh for his support. Fans who made the shows an affair to remember are very happy that the collections will go into financing the surgeries of poor kids and infants suffering from cardiac and other issues. As is known, MB Foundation has sponsored thousands of such surgeries over the years.
