Finally veteran director K Balachander's 101st directorial venture Poi would hit the screens this September.

The movie produced by Prakash Raj, who was introduced to filmdom by Balachander, features Uday Kiran, Vimala Raman, Geethu Mohandas and choreographer Sridhar in the lead roles. With music by Vidyasagar, the movie is a romantic potboiler quite typical to Balachander films.

Though the movie was completed long back, Prakash Raj was bidding his time to release the movie. Now thanks to a helping hand from producer Oscar Ravichandran, Prakash Raj has finally made up his mind to release the movie this September.

According to Balachander, 'Poi is story of youngsters that stresses on human relationship and emotions. It would be a gentle breeze amidst strong winds blowing in Tamil films today'.

All the cast and crew who were part of the movie, heaping laurels on KB, express confidence that Poi would make it big at the box office.
