Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and the increasing number of cases, in an attempt to control the spread of the virus, Indian prime minister Narendra Modi who addressed the nation today, announced the extension of nationwide lockdown till May 3.

Prime minister started his address thanking people for the cooperation to the lockdown and said people to follow Ambedkar's words, and advised people to stay at homes and celebrate New year. He said that India has been handling the situation better.

Advising people to follow social distancing, the PM said that if the cases increase, restrictions will be imposed in the areas with many cases. He urged young scientists of the nation to come up with a vaccine for Coronavirus and announced the extension of lockdown till May 3. More guidelines on the lockdown extension will be released tomorrow.
