In quite a surprise of some sort, the song "Abundance in Millets" featuring PM Narendra Modi has been nominated at the 2024 Grammy Awards under the Best Global Music Performance category. Crafted by Falu and Gaurav Shah, the song pays homage to 'International Year of the Millets,' an Indian government proposal backed by 72 countries and the United Nations General Assembly.

In contention with other nominees like Arooj Aftab, Vijay Iyer, Shahzad Ismaily, Burna Boy, Davido, Silvana Estrada, and Béla Fleck, the nomination recognizes the song's significance worldwide.

"Abundance in Millets" is structured to bring attention to millets, small-grained cereals mostly produced in India, for the possible importance of reducing world hunger.

Once a staple food in India, post-Green Revolution millets did take a back seat. The song makes it an important point and creates awareness of the super grain. The song was shared by Falu on Twitter earlier, underlining that its purpose is to motivate farmers to grow millets and fight world hunger.

Sung by Falu (Falguni Shah) and Gaurav Shah, the song is composed by Kenya Autie, Greg Gonzalez, and Soumya Chatterjee. In the music video, one has been able to find the cultivation of millets in India being introduced to the nutritional values that are attached to them.

Quotes in the video from Prime Minister Narendra Modi talk about the benefits of millets to farmers and assert that accepting them would do great good for the health of the world population. The nomination at the Grammy Awards is considered positive proof that the song played a very key role in taking the message to the whole wide world.
