Based on a survey conducted by YouGov, Indian cricket team's former skipper MS Dhoni has been named the second most admired man in India, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been named the most admired man in the country.

The survey was conducted across 42 countries, with a sample size of 42000 people, by creating a list of the most admired people in the world, with two separate categories for men and women. PM Modi topped the list in the former category while ace boxer Mary Kom has been named the most admired woman in the country. Dhoni follows Modi (15.66 percent) with an admiration rating of 8.58 percent. They are followed by Ratan Tata (8.02 percent), Barack Obama (7.36 percent) and Bill Gates (6.96 percent) in the respective order. Sachin Tendulkar is next in the list with a rating of 5.81, while Virat Kohli is at the 7th position with a 4.46 rating.

Mary Kom, with an admiration rating of 10.36 percent, is the only Indian woman to feature in the list of top 25 in the world. Other Indian women who made it to the complete list are Kiran Bedi, Lata Mangeshkar, Sushma Swaraj, and Deepika Padukone.
