Play, a comic thriller written and directed by Krishna Varma, will be released on Dec. 30. Krishna Varma had a serendipitous discovery when he found a map (a chart kind of thing, in his words) that was made by a Vijayanagaram lad way back some 15 years ago. He has written the script of Play on the basis of this chart, by interspersing a few real-life incidents in his life.

The film is done with the shooting and the digital mixing part. The genre of the film is interesting, given that comic thrillers are a rarity in Telugu.

Vijay, Tinath, Ashok, Angel Garewal, Sri Lakshmi and others are the star cast. Produced by Sathyam, the film has screenplay by the director himself.

The film was earlier planned to be released in November itself. Edited by Sridhar, Play has background score by Ramana. Music is by Gopi Sharma.
