In West Bengal, the ruling TMC could well be handed a major defeat by the BJP if Prashant Kishore's words are anything to go by. PK, who has previously been YCP's election strategist, is currently assisting Mamata Banerjee. During a Clubhouse chat with journalists, PK has said that TMC's internal survey found out that the saffron party is going to win the elections comfortably. Three phases of polling are already over.
In the now-viral video, which has found its way into Facebook and Twitter, PK says that Dalit vote consolidation behind the BJP is strong. He also says that 75% Matuas are voting for BJP. Saying that there is no anti-incumbency against the Centre, he suggests that polarization is effective. Hindi-speaking voters are also supporting the BJP.
He admits that the Muslim appeasement done by the Communists, the TMC and the Congress for the past decades has resulted in counter-Hindu consolidation is being witnessed.
BJP's Amit Malviya has highlighted the conversation in a series of tweets. "In a public chat on Club House, Mamata Banerjee’s election strategist concedes that even in TMC’s internal surveys, BJP is winning. The vote is for Modi, polarisation is a reality, the SCs (27% of WB’s population), Matuas are all voting for the BJP!", he tweeted.
Is it open?
