Popular painter and actor Veera Santhanam passed away last night in Chennai due to breathing difficulties. He was 71 when he breathed his last. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Veera Santhanam was one of the most popular painters of Tamil Nadu. He has also acted in a few Tamil films including 'Pizza' and 'Kaththi'.
The septuagenarian was more popular for his Tamil Nationalistic ideals and activism towards Sri Lankan Tamil cause. He has taken part in so many protests for the Eelam Tamils. He was one of the staunch advocates of a separate nation for Tamils. He was working as a designer in a firm in Mumbai for a very good salary. But he quit his job and came to Tamil Nadu to work for the welfare of Tamils.
